UPDATE – July 18:

Hey everybody, I’m back and the person who adopted me wanted to emphasize that it was through NO FAULT OF MY OWN that I was returned.  Get that!  The senior dog in the home did not appreciate my adolescent antics and my guardian felt that it just wasn’t fair to both of us.

Some observations were made by this human.  I am great with other dogs and would so enjoy the company of another canine (young enough to still want to play but not too roughly).  Insofar as cats are concerned, I was very annoying with them so probably better to go to a feline free home.  By the way, I have a high prey drive, so there will be no squirrels, rabbits, birds, or butterflies in our yard.

My favorite game is catch and can you please buy me a Kong or two.  I so enjoy being outside rolling in the grass and basking in the sunshine; I think a fenced yard would be perfect.  I like going for walks – a harness is a must.  I will greet everyone I meet with a wagging tail.  And, I am always up for a car ride especially since it gives me more time with my human.

Because I am a tripawd doesn’t mean that I can’t learn like my four-legged buddies.  In fact, with a pocket full of liver treats you can get me to do anything.  We should sign up for obedience training so that I can prove to you how smart I am.

I am ready for “take 2” anytime you are.  Fill in that Application Form and let’s start our new life together.

Update - July 28:

Yojik, here and yup I’m still waiting.  I must let you know that my situation has changed.  Sadly, I had to have my front leg amputated.  Apparently, I was having a reaction to the pins and the only option was amputation.  Hey, I’ve been through so much at this point; this is just another bump in the road.  Not only am I a gentle boy, but you have never met a more resilient soul than me.

As a tripawd I can do anything my four-legged pals can do, within reason.  I can’t be your running or hiking partner but if you are the more laid-back kind of person, shorter, more frequent walks are right up my alley.  Remember, I have as much love to give and I can experience just as much joy as my four-legged buds.  Just show me a liver treat and I will prove it.

I live in the moment and can easily accept and adapt to this new situation.  You could do a few things to make my life just a bit easier.  You don’t need wall to wall carpeting but you could put down a few rubber-backed rugs for traction.  Much as I love my treats, keeping me slim will help me so much in the long run, I am carrying my entire weight on 3 legs.  You can raise my water and food bowls so I can keep my balance.  Most of all, I dream of a soft, well padded, dog bed so that I can relax my body after a day of proving to you that I am a wonderful dog.

Now that I’ve given you a few hints on what you can expect, hopefully you see that caring for me is not much different than any other dog.  I’ve come such a long way and been through so much in my young life, can you provide the love and commitment that I yearn for.  Fill in the application form and ask for Yojik.

So, you love dogs?  Good then consider giving one a home … me!  Safety, security, and love, with my very own family that’s what I dream of.

I am from Armenia – another country where so many dogs have no hope; no future.  I am one of the lucky ones who made it out.  There are many left behind – starving, suffering, unwanted, and abused.  What is the answer to all this?  Humans have put men on the moon but they are still scrambling to figure how to fix the homeless dog population.

Yojik is my name and I was born into a world that didn’t want me.  My rescuers took me in after having been hit by a car – I had two broken legs.  If you meet me, you will notice that I have a slight limp.  It was a lot for my young body and mind to deal with. But I’m strong, and longed for a better life.  So, I fought the pain, loneliness and rejection and grew up to be a handsome, healthy dog.

Don’t forget I’m an adolescent who must play catch-up but I am oh so willing to learn.  Let me prove to you that I have the right stuff to be an awesome family dog.

Fill in the application form and ask for Yojik.  Prove to me that a dog can be man’s best friend.
